Create new payment links

  1. On your SumUp profile, click "Payment Links" in the left-hand menu.

  2. Click "Create payment link".

  3. Choose between a fixed amount link to add a preset payment amount or an open amount to allow your customer to enter the payment amount.

  4. If creating a fixed amount link, add a payment amount.

  5. Enter a description of what the payment is for.

  6. Use the "Activate reusable link" toggle to switch between one-off and reusable payment links.

  7. Finalise your link by clicking "Create payment link".

  8. Choose how you want to share your link:

    • Share link - tap the copy symbol beside the link and paste it to the sharing platform of your choice

    • Display as a QR code - tap "Send payment link" then "Show QR code"

Customers complete payment by opening the link shared with them, entering their details and hitting "Pay". Customers with SumUp Pay can also pay quickly via the SumUp Pay app.

Avoid payment disputes

Entering an item description makes it easier for customers to remember transactions and helps you to avoid chargebacks.

Re-use payment links

  1. On your SumUp profile, click "Payment Links" in the left-hand menu.

  2. Click "Reusable links".

  3. Tap the copy symbol beside the link you want to share and paste it to the sharing platform of your choice.

Enable tipping options

  1. On your SumUp profile, click "Payment Links" in the left-hand menu.

  2. Click "Create payment link".

  3. Open the "More link options" section.

  4. Enable the "Let customer add a tip" toggle to allow your customers to add a tip during the payment or disable it to deactivate all tipping options.

How do I know when it’s paid?

You can easily check the status of your payment link to track whether your link has been paid.
