Provide a refund
Payments made via a card reader can be refunded to the original payment card via the SumUp app.
Open the SumUp app on your iPad and tap “Checkout” to the right of the screen.
Tap "Sales" on the right side of the screen.
Find and select the card payment you want to refund.
Tap "Refund" and, if making a partial refund, amend the refund amount.
Enter the password you use to log in and tap "Refund transaction".
Log in to the POS Pro app, and tap the settings symbol in the top right corner.
Tap "Orders" then find and select the refunded order.
Tap "Refund", choose a reason for the refund and tap "Confirm refund" to log the refund on the POS Pro app.
You can return to view details of the refunded order at any time. There may be a refund time limit of 90 days for some card payments due to third-party restrictions.
Amend employee permissions to ensure the profile being used is able to provide refunds.
Refunds after payouts
Refunds are only possible if you have sufficient balance of not-yet-withdrawn payouts to cover the refund amount. If your money was just paid out, you may need to take more card payments to complete the refund.
Our transaction fee only applies once a transaction is paid out. Payments refunded before being paid out are not charged.
