Log cash payments

  1. On the SumUp app, tap "Checkout" at the bottom of the screen.

  2. Tap "Amount" to enter a custom value (minimum £1.00) or "Items" to sell an item from your item catalogue.

  3. Tap "Charge" and then select "Cash". If you're using the App on a tablet you can select "Cash" directly.

  4. Optionally, apply a discount or ask customers to add a tip.

  5. Enter the value of cash paid by your customer. The app will tell you how much change is due and, if connected, your cash drawer will open.

  6. Press "Charge" again to confirm the transaction.

Cash payments are free

Naturally, there are no fees when it comes to accepting cash payments.

Provide a receipt

  1. On the transaction success screen, choose between sending the receipt as an email or SMS.

  2. Enter your customer’s contact details and confirm you want to send the receipt.

Receipts are valuable evidence to protect against chargebacks, so be sure to provide them whenever possible. You can provide receipts for past sales at any time.
